Carter Lee 10/27

Carter Lee Dan born 10/27 5:39pm 8 lbs 4 oz 20in.... So happy to be a bigger family! Labor went great. They started me on petocin about 9:00am I started feeling contractions around 12:00 and doc came in and broke my water at 1:00. I NEEDED an epidural by 2:00pm and then 3 hours later I was ready to push. I pushed through 5 contractions and out came Carter! Yes our crib card said "Danboy" on it. I made sure we had a name picked before the rest of the evening was over. He has tons of dark hair, he is nursing well for the moment and is sleeping ALOT! Mikey isn't really reacting to him yet but Im sure he will soon.

"Backyardigans"

I have started recording the Backyardigans. Mikey loves cartoons but I think this one is his favorite because of the bright colors. He also watches Nascar with dad like this. That is where he likes to stand to watch his cartoons or Nascar. It is nice to be able to turn this on, put him in the playpen and be able to go to the bathroom or take a shower or do the things that you like to do in private. Yah I know he is standing really close.. hopefully it is a myth about them going blind!

Baby guessing game!

Please go to this game! The prize for whoever guesses the closest will get the first call from Mike telling you the gender of our baby! Enter your guess! Even though my due date is Oct 31 I am scheduled to be induced on 10/27/08.. Mikey was 6 lbs 10 oz born on his due date and 19 1/2 in. We don't know what the gender is! Im suppose to arrive at the hospital on the 27th at 6:30am if there is enough room!

So I went to the doc today and I have a date set now to get induced! Wasn't expecting it but who can say no when they say "Do you want to pick a date to have this baby." It is nice to have a date set. A date to look forward to. Well I had the due date but that is sooo up in the air. So... If I don't have the baby before then they are inducing me on October 28th! I am excited but also really scared and nervous. I doubt I will get any sleep the night before. I can't believe the time has come again.. it feels like I was just at that hospital going through a WONDERFUL time!

Alright 7 things about me: Taylor Victoria Dan



1. Everyone always thinks this is a weird one: I love fish tanks! Saltwater fish, freshwater fish a goldfish in a bowl etc. However, I cannot look at a fish tank and eat or drink anything! I think its just something about them swimming around in their own poop! I dunno?

2. I was made fun of at school in the 6th grade EVERYDAY! I would come home sobbing everyday from school! I moved to a new town that year and I just couldn't make any new friends. I think for the most part I can make friends pretty easy (if I want to) sometimes I just don't care. Well I did get over the 6th grade because 7th and 8th grade and high school was completely different.

3. My parents were divorced when I was like 1 1/2. My dad was working in the oil fields for a long time and he also traveled allot working as a bouncer at concerts. So I lived the winters with my grandparents until about middle school. We lived just outside of Sacramento CA. I would spend the summer with my mom in Santa Cruz, CA. My first roller coaster was of course the big dipper..... good times!

4. I wrecked my car the first week I had my drivers license. I hit washboard on a dirt road going way too fast.. I hit a mountain and kinda ricocheted off of it. My head hit the steering wheel and I passed out. We would've went down off of the other side of the embankment if my friend didn't pull the e-break.

5. I like to fish.

6. My favorite food is Mexican food. I like more authentic tasting Mexican food than American Mexican. (Azteca for example)

7. I have 3 tattoos that are all getting removed within the next 5 years. At least this is my goal. I am starting a trust on behalf of myself at Bank of America. I will let you know when this will take effect. j/k it is going to cost LOTS of money though, but well worth it. I can't wait to get started!

Autumn Backdrop

We were going to go to the pumpkin patch on saturday.... The ONLY reason I wanted to go was to take some pics of Mikey with pumpkins and fall scenery in the background. We are on the road to Spokane, WA (where the pumpkin patch is) we stop and ask for directions at a little fruit stand. The man that was working at the counter said that the pumpkins froze early for the season and the pumpkin patches were all closed down for the season already. I was really bummed! He had some pumpkins for sale there so we bought three of them and then drove around looking for a fall BACKDROP. LAME I KNOW! Well we went to this corn maze in Post Falls, ID but all they had was corn (imagine that!) so then we were leaving the corn maze and Mike spotted a coffee stand with a cute little backdrop. YES we did take pics in front of this along a VERY busy highway. We must have looked like the BIGGEST nerds! They probably thought we were from Athol, ID or something and never saw a coffee stand. Here are just a few pics.. Mikey HATED sitting on the bails of hay and was tired and hungry.. the look on his face describes how I felt!

We left from there to go to my parents house. It turns out that we could have just went to their house to begin with because they had the PERFECT thing.. leaves!! So we took pics underneath their willow tree with some leaves around him. Mike said that he is going to take more pics in our front yard so there might be more pics of that coming soon. Oh! I almost forgot to mention.. while I was at my parents my friend Sarah called and her sister went to the SAME pumpkin patch we were going to that day and it is still open.. no frozen pumpkins. Who knows maybe the guy was just saying that so we would buy his.. oh well! Maybe we will go this weekend if I haven't had the baby yet.

Boy Names

Mike and I cannot agree on any boy names. We need a little help. I really don't want to decide in the hospital. It would be easier if we even had a few names. The only name that Mike has come up with is Ryan and every first and middle name of all of his bro's. Here are some that I like: Corbin, Gavin, Carson, Garrett, and Ian I'm not stuck on these. I am open to any suggestions.... I'm not sure Mike is though!

"Big Boy Car seat"

Mikey is now in a forward facing car seat! Even though he is about 2 lbs and 1 month away from "Car seat Guidelines" we decided to put him in a new car seat. The whole reason behind this was so the other car seat, "The Chicco" would be freed up for the new baby. Mikey loves his new car seat and really interacts with us now. We talk to him allot more and he talks to us allot more.

Little Terd

Mikey is really getting to be a little terd! He gets into EVERYTHING he isn't suppose to. I tell him "no" and he turns around and smiles at me. The other day I left the room for a sec and came back and found him like this........

Mikey's 1st roadrash

Mikey fell off our cement backstep yesterday. He skinned his little nose pretty good. Luckily he's tough and only cried for a minute. 1st of many to come.....

New Paint

BEFORE:AFTER:These pics doesn't give it justice! We just finished painting our house and it needed it REALLY bad. Thanks to some friends for their help and Mikes dad we were able to finish it. It only took 3 hours to paint the body of the house "white" thanks to a friend that came over with his sprayer. We also put up new exterior lights that match the trim. The next thing on our list is to paint the door RED. It is nice to pull up in our driveway and admire our house.

Taylor's Job

In April I was able to quit my job at the bank and I started working at home. I watch 3 girls, 2 days a week. The 2 year olds are twins and the little baby in the middle is 6 months old. They are all sisters. My day starts from 6:00 in the morning until 6:00 at night. Yes,these are 12 hour days but it is only 2 days a week. The girls are really good and they are very smart for their age. I am starting to teach them sign language as well as Mikey. We learn as we go. We are truly blessed for me to land such a good job. I now get to stay home with little Mikey and I couldn't ask for anything more.

14 Foot Smokercraft

In July Mike purchased a fishing boat. He went out several times a week and didn't catch a thing! J/K Mike! Mike likes to catch and release so we don't ever really see the fish.

7 DEVILS

In August Mike went to Southern Idaho and hiked with a couple of friends at a place called " 7 Devils." They hiked 25 miles into the woods with everything they needed on their backs. Mike liked it alot and plans on doing it again next year.

Mikey 10 months

I know that I have been slackin on adding posts to the blog.. sorry! Mikey is now ALMOST 11 months old and will be a big brother soon. He is cruising around on the furniture and stepping away from the furniture now. He tries to walk but falls after half of a step. He is pretty persistent and I'm sure he will be walking by his birthday. He has 4 teeth on top and 5 on the bottom. His first molar just came in last week! He likes daddy to hold him allot and loves to get into things he's not suppose to.

The Fair

In the beginning of September we went to the fair. Mikey saw sheep, cows and draft horses and many more animals. Mike got a chance to ride the mechanical bull. He did great and lasted AT LEAST 8 seconds.
